For some reason, I love photographing the Pennisetum Setaceum Rubrum, also known as Purple Fountain Grass. The previous picture that I posted is actually my current wallpaper on my Macbook Pro.

I think what I love about it is the nice color that it can produce. If I ever get a house where I can do some landscaping, I will probably incorporate this into it somehow.

It’s official. We are moving out of the fabulous beach front condo and into a single family house my roommate just closed escrow on. Congrats, roomie!

With the rash of robberies that occurred in our facility and area in April, I was planning on moving and getting my own place. Ironically, the day I started looking, my roommate dropped the news that his offer for a home he didn’t think he was going to get, was excepted. He extended an offer for me to rent out a room at his new place but I initially told him that I wanted to keep my options open and to see if I could get my own place first.

After about two weeks of looking on Craigslist, I learned two things- 1 bedroom apt/condos and studios were either out of my price range or they were located in less than ideal areas. Since it was looking like I was going to have to share a place again, I decided on excepting my current roommates offer of renting one of the rooms at his new home.

We need to be out of the condo by June 14th, which leaves a little over a week to pack. Luckily, I don’t have too many things here so the move should be fairly easy. As much as I am going to miss this place, I’m excited to be moving.

I wanted to take this opportunity to pay my respects to family, friends and coworkers who have recently lost a loved one. To my father -who lost a brother, my friends – who lost parents, and to my coworker – who lost a daughter. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Now that the craziness of May has passed, I’m finally getting back to my normal routine, which means spinning class at 24hour fitness on Tuesdays. I always love a good sweat and today, I got one.

For the month of June, I’ve decided I will try to post one picture a day. I got this idea from my friend Jeff, who was doing it on his blog at jeffreysimms.com. I thought it would be a good exercise to help me continue my development as a photographer as well a share a little part of my daily life through images. So here we go…

Day 1 – I Love My Chucks

I bought my first pair of Converse Chuck Taylor All Stars this past weekend and I love them!. It was sort’ve by accident that I purchased these since I was going insane trying to find some Crocs Flip Flops. I never did find what I was looking for. So when I came across a sale at one of the shoe stores, I decided to buy these instead. I wore them for the first time today and I have to say they are extremely comfortable. Why I never had a pair before is beyond me. I’m thinking of getting multiple colors!
